use distilled water??? haha...well... you assuming you use tap water and get nozzles clogged after few months depending on the quality of your city water, then you'll have to soak in CLR or vinegar to regain some of the functionality. You'll also get residue on your cage. When you get an RO system, you can also use the water for drinking and for cooking, so it better justifies an RO purchase IMO. Cuts on your maintenance, nozzles never clog, cage doesn't get mineral deposits. $130 isn't too bad for all that!
thanks Marty,,
it's not that i'm trying to cut corners really,,, it's just that we already have an RODI unit hooked up in our laundry room for water changes on our saltwater tanks and i'm not sure my husband is going to go for another water making/collection system...
just trying to find out what is second best.....
thanks,, lisa
