Austin TX

I will be in Austin on the weekend of Oct 24 through the 26th. I have an all day event on Sunday but free Saturday afternoon and most of Monday morning.

Does anyone on the forum have anything to reccommend to go see? I think I will be near the Univerity of Texas campus.

First trip to TX - yee haw!

The capital is cool.

6th street is pretty fun if you like the whole bar scene. It's basicaly a street full of bars that they block off.

There are a couple caves in that area that are fun to tour.

If you wanted to drive like ~30 minutes there's a small town called Gruene and it has a bunch of cool little restraunt / bar places. There's a place called the Gruene Hall and it's the oldest dance hall in texas. There are pictures of when George Strait used to play there when he was like 18 before he became big.
