Attaching branches to cages

How do I attach the branches/vines securely so that they don't fall and take the chameleon with it?

i use duct tape on them in the corners. cut it into little strips and tape it multiple times to the sides. try to use branches that angle on the ends so they are easier to tape if you know what im trying to say. you can also use those bending metal wires. that's all i can really think of. i take it you are having trouble not breaking the mesh. if you have glass or solid sides, you can use those round suction cups with a hook and tie the branches on there. hope that helps

Go to home depot or Lowes and get picture hanging wires. They're very skinny fit through the mesh. put your branch on the side of the cage and tie the branch through the cage with the wire. That's what I do...

Thumb tacks or push pins work really well to attach branches horizontally to the screen. It's a lot stronger than you would thing and it will not ruin your screen if you use a little sense. Alternatively, I use zip ties or fishing line and thread it through the screen to secure things.

i use garden wiring from my local art supply store (michael's) it was really cheap and is really long. Very useful.

Thanks, guys. I really like the zip tie idea and using thumb tacks. With the zip ties though, how do you tie the branches so that it is horizontal or diagonal in the cage?

Fran, could you zoom in to where one of the branches is horizontal in the cage?

I use fishing line so I don't damage the screen,but the other members idea's work fine also

Just a tip that I found. I was trying to use fishing line at first also but with a big cage I needed a third (or even a fourth) hand to hold it in place while I went around and tied it off.

I got some of this thin "Floral" wire from Home Depot. You would think it is in the garden section but it was actualy in the paint section. The wire, since I can bent it and it holds it's shape, unlike my springy monofilament fishing line, was a lot easier doing the job solo. YMMV

It's cheap enough and you get good amount.
