At what age....

can you start to sell veiled chameleons? I wish I could grow them all up until they were adults, but that is unrealistic. They are almost 3 weeks old now, and I was just thinking about it. I am planning on finding new homes for them when they are about 2 months old. Should I stick with this or can I sell them when they are younger or should I wait until they are older? Believe me I am in noooo hurry to get rid of them, I love taking care of them and watching them grow. I was just curious and I know I will have to think about it soon.

you can sell younger ones to experienced keepers, but don't sell them to noobs until they are 3-4 months old

From what I have seen around here its typical at the 2.5-3 month range to sell out a cham. At least of the Panther to veiled variety. You may be able to get away with selling them younger however, but the chances of illness and death are much greater. Of course I am no expert but when I look for a seller I look at there practices and the quality of the animal. I am much more comfortable in purchasing a cham when established more then when too young....just my 2 cents. I think you should stick to the 2 month plan you have.

yea around 2.5 for some of the bigger ones and 3 months for the smaller ones , its just so that you can establish a eating place and drinking place for them so when you do go to sell them to the unexpeirenced person all they gota do research the animal there for a couple of months and they should be ready enough to have one , just make sure you sell most of them to experienced chams keepers if possible so your not worrying so much if some idiots going to kill them , but yea sell them around the 2.5 to 3 month range you will get abit more for them also because they are bigger

Yes, somewhere close to 3 months on the early side. Of course, the older they are, the more you can sell them for.

I say 4 months is good considering what there going to go threw with shipping and the cold temperatures that come with flying during every time of year.

I would go by size rather then age. They all grow at different rates. I have seen almost full grown veileds at the 6-8 month range. I would say 6-7" overall length is as small as you should sell them, at least out right to unknown buyers. I would think 8" would be more preferable.

It depends upon who you sell them too

sub adults are able to handle noob abuse much better then 3 mo olds.
basically, keep yours for 3 months and give them a good head start.
any younger and you know that most of them will die.
