Are we over analyzing our new chameleon?

I've had good feedback so far from this forum (Thank you), so hopefully I can get some more.
We bought a 4mos male Ambilobe from a local, reputable breeder on June 7. So he's about 5mos now.
He was very used to being handled daily. We held him before we bought him. After the 2 hour car ride home, new enclosure and surroundings, etc, he became a little 'stand off ish'. We gave him his space and a little over a week and began daily handling. We have never been able to get him to eat from our hands. He was eating crickets with an occasional superworm.
He shed about a week after we got him.
We slowly switched over to Dubia's with an occasional superworm.
Here's my actual question. Is it normal for them to slow down? I mean physically slow down? He just seems sort of lazy. I know that sounds strange, he's a chameleon. But he seems different to me. He's eating, drinking, pooping. He has always spent a lot of time basking. Still does. He just moves slower lately.
He sleeps WHEREVER he is when the lights go off- upside down on his ceiling, on the side, on a branch... Anywhere.
Has no problems hanging on. His strength seems normal. Does not sleep during the day. Something just doesn't seem right.
Could he be getting ready to shed again?
We were gone all day the last time he shed, it was just in there when we got home that evening. So we don't know if he was acting strange prior.
We were told to start with a smaller cage and move him to a bigger one as he grows. (To avoid falling too far) We have the bigger one, but I'm afraid to switch things up right now. But also worried that he's looking for more height. He spends so much time upside down on the ceiling. A vendor at a recent Repticon show said that was his way of trying to get warm. But he spends a lot of time under his UVB and it isn't warm.
His eyes look good. When he gets upset his colors are looking good.

More info:
16x16x30 Reptibreeze
UVB Reptisun 5.0 12" tube
Heat lamp
Lights on 7am-7pm
Automatic mister- 30 second every hour
Misting on 7am - 6pm
Cage is dry by next misting except for some pooling in the fake leaves.
Real plants- ficus, umbrella tree. Both replanted in organic soil
Fake plant that allows pooling of water
Jungle vines
Wooden ladder
Bamboo sticks- vertical and horizontal
Temp at basking: 80-90
Temp at bottom: 70-75
Humidity: 35-65% using meter

Eating:
5-6 medium Dubia daily
3-4 superworms weekly
Calcium w/o D3 6 days per week
Calcium w/ D3 one day every other week
Reptivite one day every other week.
We are buying our Dubias at a local feed store. Feeding them fresh fruits (apples, oranges, banana) and veggies (potatoes, carrots, greens) as well as water crystals.

Thanks for any input.

I've attached pics of his enclosure, where he currently is hanging out, most recentpoop, yesterday's handling.

Hey there! I would try adding some more horizontal branches a tad higher in the cage.. if your guy is hanging from the ceiling, it could likely mean your basking spot isn't warm enough or high enough (so he climbs higher to get warmer or safer feeling). From the picture of your enclosure, it doesn't look like theres too many branches on the UVB side either.. both UVB exposure & basking is important for metabolism, which equals energy. If the lighting is off, that could be a factor as to why he's "slower".. just my two cents. I'm no expert. Also, misting every hour for 30 seconds seems excessive to me.. but I dont know.

Maybe someone else can shed more light.. :notworthy:

Thank you!!
I bought a small Pothos plant and I will add that as well as some more horizontal branches higher up. Makes total sense.
I should also add, we gave in and fed him some crickets this afternoon. He had already eaten 4-5 roaches. Perked right up when we added them and ate 6-7 right away! All of a sudden he didn't look so slow! We were really trying to phase out the crickets, but if he's going to pout about it...
