are these the "bad flies" in my roach colony

can anyone tell me if these are those "hunch back" flies that are killing the cham eggs- or are they just fr/ flies- I know the pic is not that good- but my roaches have had what I thought (and hope) are fr/ flies, but tonight , I noticed small maggot like worms in one corner - and also about 15 dead roaches, so ( dont read any further if you have a weak stomach - sorry ) I put on a glove, and squished the dead roach - it also has the worms IN it - but not in the gut area, it was in the "chest" part - the little part right after the head - and it smelled BAD - this roach was totally dead- so I took another one who was not looking so hot, and squished him - he had nothing , and also tested a healthy looking roach, he also had nothing - this is my "teenager " bin, the bigger babies, and up, but not quite breeding age -
but what do I do ?????? my breeding bin seems to have no issue - lots of babies, but I did see a few flies in there too- do these look like the bad flies ? again, sorry for the bad pic- I can try to get better ones if that will help in the AM - even if they are just f/f - I do not want them in there

that looks like a phorid fly to me, not sure what you can do about it though :(

even if you didnt see live maggots in the roach, the eggs could have still been there...

:( that is also what I fear it may be- it has that jerky walk too - are all my roaches going to die? how did they even get here? is there anyway to protect my breeder bin? I have not seen them in that one yet

Could be maggots from old rotting food or dead roach bodies

there was no rotting food- but they were close to the water gels - so I took all those out- and they get their wet food on a little plate so if they should not eat it all, I can take it out- but they always eat everything

any ideas how to get rid of these - will it do any good to change the roaches to a new bin ( or not, cuz the eggs are already on them ? ) this stinks !

no idea, maybe move the breeder bin to a different room? All accounts Ive heard say that phorids can make their way into almost everything, sealed or not

all the sources I know of say the only way to get rid of phorids are to get rid of their food source :(

yes, I will do that - move them - is there any danger to my chams do you think? as far as feeding those roaches- started to feed out of the breeding big just encase- but I hate to disturb that bin everyday -

thanks guys for your help

Im not sure, but i would imagine the cham's stomach acid would make short work of the maggots if there were any in the roaches
