So im ugprading my cage to large hyrbrid dragon strand and i want all live plants in there. I currently have an umbrella, manzanita, lipstick vine and plenty of philodendron I'm wondering if the arcadia[i think its 6%] bulb is enough to keep my plants alive or do i need another source? Something LED?

Thsnks for the help!

You definitely need more, preferably full-spectrum plant light.
Some use a double T5 fixture with UVB in one slot and plant light in the other; others use separate fixtures; still others prefer LEDs for plant lights.

Lots of threads on this in the archives.

I use the SANSI grow lights and I have very good expirience with them. ?

Yea ive been looking at those too..
I guess i just want something that doesnt take up alot of room since im guna need 2 different bulbs. Does anyone have any crits on this?

I can put an arcadia bulb in there and my favorite feature is it has a basking fixture attached so i can have a clean top n everything is fixed together. In addition i would get one of the t5ho fixtures with a grow bulb? Idk what kind

Will this work with arcadia bulbs?
Yes it is a T5 fixture but the issue here is what is the reflector quality... Not all are the same. Bad reflector and the UVB levels may not be what you imagine. So if you have a solarmeter 6.5 then you would know for sure. I have not had much luck with that brand though.

Why not just get 2 single T5 fixtures... These come with the daylight bulbs. https://www.pangeareptile.com/store/t5-uvb-light-fixture.html
And then you would just buy 1 of the 6% UVB bulbs https://www.pangeareptile.com/store/arcadia-6-uvb-t5-reptile-bulb.html
Keep in mind with a T5HO your output is going to be different for UVB then the T8 your using. You need a full 9 inches between basking branch and UVB bulb to get approximately a 3 UVI level.

I guess i just wanted a cleaner look and to not spend a lot.... but i knew that wasn't possible! ?just bought the dragonstrand so that took a big toll on my pockets ? but i understand how important it is and I am really sick of this zoomed fixture... its much too old and just needs to go... so thanks for your help i think that's what'll ill do! unless anyone else has a better suggestion? I wanted arcadia but their sold out of the 24" fixtures ?

Honestly the links for the ones I gave you are about the cheapest you will find in a good quality fixture. I run these on my cages. I have 3 on each. 2 with the daylight bulbs that comes with them and then 1 with the UVB.
You can see my DS cages here with this lighting on them. As you can see they really push the light down. I have had tremendous plant growth as well https://www.chameleonforums.com/media/albums/my-enclosures.6672/

I still killed medium light plants with a T5HO 6500k and a arcadia UVB. Sansi or bust for hibiscus etc.
So your suggesting the sansi? I just dont like that they're not tube lighting so it only hits a smaller surface area, or am i wrong? I've heard their waterproof, which is maybe why their so popular.

I was told the 6% isnt enough cuz the screen filters out the light, so i should get 12% instead?

This is incorrect information. A 6% T5 bulb through screen will produce a UVI level of 3 at 9 inches away. A 12% is much stronger and basking has to be placed even lower at 12 inches away. You never want to have the Chameleon any closer then these distances with a T5HO fixture because the output of the UVB is much stronger with this type of bulb vs a T8.

Standard grow light setup is one sansi per 10x10" or 14x14" area to grow food. So yea full sun you would want 4 of the suckers in a reptibreeze xl, but then you would have a baked cham and ripe strawberries.
