Does the Arcadia day light bulb put off heat or just light?! T5 bulb

The t5 is only designed for providing light either UV or Visible. You will still need a basking site.

That is correct.. you still will need a basking light just like normal.

But t5 fixtures do run a tad bit warmer than a reg. flo. light.

Basically, they are warmer just due to the increased wattage.

A regular single 24" flo. light bulb is 18 watts and a single 22" (24" fixture size) HO t5 bulb is 24 watts.

So the t5 bulb is naturally warmer due to the fact it is using 6-ish more watts and that much more heat overall is being generated.

the combo todd set me up with is 80-81 degrees right under the fixture,
which works well with my jackson, so it could depend what species? right?

I have a Jackson's as well and if it puts off that kind of heat it would be beneficial to me right now since I live in New Jersey and it's still really cold here
