aquarium gravel.. not sand..

I was wondering if i can fill my plants with gravel like the stuff in my fish tank.. the stones are not too big.. like the diamiter of a sig.. thx in advance !

It depends on the diameter of the gravel. Most aquarium gravel isn't fine enough and the gnats and the larvae can get through, if that's the purpose.

Otherwise, too big, I'd be concerned with a chameleon munching out and getting impacted.

I dont think she would eat it on purpose.. the stones are not too big like i said, you know at the end of a smoke probally a bit smaller than that, and i have finer gravel too.. and i read your post before i posted this, i just had gravel on me now and needed to know if it's safe.. the plant is in the tank now straight from home depot, all i did was wash it with soap and rince well wiyh my automatic rain maker..i put brown paper towel for now in my money tree so she cant eat the dirt and she sleeps the whole night in 1 spot without moving, so dont worry its fine fornow..i just dont have time to read through thewhole forum also..

From what i know about reptiles tho is sand is not good thing in there tummy but now i am paranoidd and think the gravel i have can be fatal.. if i cant use it i guess its off to the pet store yet again..

I cant even get her to eat strawberry and blueberry even after i squish the juices on her mouth lol
I had her over a month now and seen her take 1 nibble of the plant,but she will eat any insect i offer her..

If you replace soil with gravel you'll have to replace the nutritional aspects of the soil you will lose. Maybe what you really want to do is pot your plants in a hygroponics medium. Its not really gravel, but a fired clay pellet that can absorb and release nutrient solution you add to the pot. Read up on "hydroponic growing" or "soiless plant growing" online. It will be explained better than I did.
