I like Justin Carl's picture! Absoulutly beautiful!
Me too - great photo! I'm surprised it did not get more public votes. A more natural background might have helped, but I can't say for sure. There were also some minor visible artifacts, but I doubt many look hard enough to see them. Great job Justin!

Thanks guys!
I was really pleased with the photo at first, but now I'm thinking I could have done much better.
Hey-I tried!
I actually thought the original with the tail straight out was better, but it took away from the body.
Brad, you are right about a more natural background, but I enjoy seeing just the chameleon.
I guess if I want to win I need to listen to the people(forum members) and not myself.
I'm still knew at this whole photography thing, but I'm sure I will keep entering each month!
So, you better look out!
You cant dispute the winner this month.:D
Way to go VerteX! 3 gold metals!

Thanks again!

Thank you

First off, thank you all.

There were some really good photographs in April's contest. I really liked Justin's, Kathy's and EXO's pictures.

Justin: You have some really good pictures in your gallery. You should be able to win with small attention to detail in the future contests. Don't get discouraged if you don't win. Heck, there have been occasions where my photographs didn't even make the first cut!

You cant dispute the winner this month.

Oh, yes you can! Some self-critique:
  1. Background is not natural looking. (But, I believe the subject really sticks out) If it was a shade of green, it could be better. Please see some of Igor Siwanowicz's photographs to see what I mean:
  2. A relatively important part; tail is out of focus. (At f/4.5 and 1/60, I couldn't afford to have smaller aperture for more sharpness and a darker image)
  3. Lighting could be better. (Even though his cage has 8 fluorescent bulbs) I don't like flashes because I have yet to learn how to use them better. Usually what I achieve is "flash in your face" effect which I don't prefer.

Please see the thumbnails of other photos that I took during the same photo shoot for reference.

Last, I'm sad not being able to participate in May's very artistic themed contest. I guess that's my punishment. Justin, You have to get a good one in! I'm counting on you. ;)

Thank you all again.
