I too had rented and owned a cat and fish! The cat was not an issue because small animals were allowed. Plus my cat was indoor only. The fish tank was my main concern! I figured there would a fear of water damage, but they did not seem to care about the tank.

My landlord doesn't allow pets but I asked him about my cham and he said it was fine he actually was even interested because he's never seen one in real life.
