Anything help regress edema

I have had a female ankaramy with edema for about 6 months. I cut all supliments out and she is showing much less fluid buildup. But under her arm there is still some patches of fluid. I was thinking of possibly giving her reptivite, because the d3 might take some fluids out and absorb them, or am i mistaken? Any advise would help, thank you.

What kind of water do you use for drinking and misting? I had the same problem with Camille and finally figured out (with the help of my daughter) that it was my water. My husband put an RO system in and the edema went away and has not come back.

this is very interesting, what made you suspect the water and did you get it checked out?was the water in question very cloudy??

My daughter has lots of chameleons and had problems with her water and edema before when she had city water in a small town. We have well water and after several vet visits and cutting out supplements (which is not good for the females) she told me to try different water and it worked.

I use tap water treated with the repti-safe water treatment.
Reptisafe has a lot of unnecessary calcium in it, as well as other things, but I do not remember what off the top of my head.
It would probably be better to set a jug of water aside for your edema-plagued girl and just let the bad stuff evaporate overnight.

I have her cage hooked up to a misting system, along with 5 other cages. I can switch her to a cage i just put together.

Now my question would be, if i hand mist her with filtered water and keep her off suppliments for a while and the edema goes away, would it come back if i used any suppliments on her, ever?

The females need the calcium I would not keep her off of it for very long. Sometimes edema can be caused by a more serious problem. If changing the water doesn't help I would take her to the vet.

Roger that, I am misting her with the purified water. Also giving her 50/50 water and pedialite so make sure its nothing else. After 2 or three days ill be taking her into Dr. Greeks office if there is no improvements. Thank you much!

THe D3 thing will certainly not work-what did you base that on? I have a female Nosy that lives with edema. Some females just do. No one really knows what causes it. Sometimes reducing or cutting out supplements works, sometimes changing water works, sometimes it goes away, sometimes it last their entire lives. My poor girl is a bloated mess, but she eats, basks, poops, and acts normal other than being a bit clumsy. She is almost 2 years old and has has never laid a clutch, and has had edema since about 7-8 months of age. The Vet and experts have all been consulted.
