I am looking into buying a chameleon (I have EXTREMELY educated on their care) but would really love to see one in person before ordering one.

The combination of the cage, equipment, and the chameleon is really very expensive, and I would hate to put a chameleon through all that stress just to find I am not compatible with them.

There would be 2-3 of us coming to look at the chameleon. I know this is asking a lot. If you know of any stores or breeders instead that would be fine too.

Thanks for all your help ahead of time.

Howdy,

Great idea :). I hope several local chameleon keepers volunteer to help you out. As you have noted, it is important to see, firsthand, what you are getting into and your compatability to the ins and outs of chameleon keeping as well as all of the feeder insect keeping required to have a healthy, thriving chameleon.

Good luck! Dave

I am glad of the precautions you are taking and it makes me feel that you will do a wonderful job taking care of your chameleons! Just make sure you dont become afraid to ask questions when needed.

Welcome to the Forums by the way! I'm Dan, I'm on here Daily so if you do need anything feel free to ask!

Always a pleasure having new members!!

Hi. I live in Burlington County. It's great you are doing research BEFORE you get your cham! I lurked on here for months before joining and then took another few months to get my set-up together. Although I do FR my cham, so you won't be able to see a cage set-up. I do have, of course, lights, plants, misting system, drainage, feeders, etc. And, unlike MOST people here - I only have one cham. . . so far. . . Anyway, I would be glad to let you see my set-up and cham. PM me if you would like with some contact info.

I grew up in South Jersey but am in Florida now, so not much help in that department, though I'm always happy to help with advice. There is a member from Mt. Laurel, but I forget his name. I grew up in Mullica Hill - where are you?

:D Nice to see more chameleon keepers in NJ and good to see you're doing your research. I live in North Jersey lol. Free-ranging your cham is better IMO because they tend to have better temperaments than if you cage-raised them. They also look awesome if done correctly. The more room the better for these little critters.

Hello, in Newtown, PA, (near Trenton) with a bunch of baby Jackson's looking for new homes, come the end of March. Price is free, wanna put yourself on the adoption list?
