I hope this is where this question should be..Some of these are confusing..its labeled LIZARD but says off topic so not sure what that means, and there there is the other reptiles and pets..and this is about corals..which i GUESS could be a pet? I dont know..so all apologies if Im wrong.:) Anyone going to the frag swap in Murfreesboro on the 17th? Hubby and I are going. Don't know how many of you are even in TN, but figured I would ask. :) How many have tanks going? We have a 72 bowfront that we are battling abd case of green hair right now. We did have a 34g RedSea set up for Sea horses but this 72 is taking all our time, money and effort so we took down the other for now.:(

Hopefully I am! I have been in the MTRC since the start but haven't been very active the last couple of years. I used to have a great looking tank with lots of sps but I have let it go a little down hill lately. I had some bad luck with mysterious coral die offs so I got a little discouraged. Do you still have any seahorses? I used to keep those and actually raised some babies to several months old but lost them when a filter died on me. I used to also keep dwarf seahorses as well.

We were gonna get dwarfs. no we never actually got any into the tank. We bought everything needed..including a chiller (whew what an expense!)..but then our 72 became overgrown with green hair and we just decided that we needed to focus on that as that was our first tank we JUST got going in OCT. we are having fsh die mysteriously and disappear and the emerald is eating the centers of our Zoas..!! SO we just took the seahorse down for now.. Ill get it one day.:) Is it worth being a memeber on MTRC? We were gonna join. I mean, we are on the board but not an actual paying member.

I never used a chiller on my dwarf tank. I had a 12 gal. tank with a viper light and never had a temp problem. I had to order my dwarfs from Reeftopia since nobody has them around here. Have you actually seen a dwarf? They are tiny. If you are a member of MTRC you get a 10% discount at Aquatic Critter and Emerald Bay as well as some others. I am not sure about anywhere in Clarksville though. They also have meetings every month and you get to go see other peoples tanks. They have a forum on www.reefcentral.com also but you don't have to be a member to post there.

Yea we are on the forum. Thats the thing though..Im sure all the meetings are probably held in nashville or m'boro.. I know Pet palace here does the 10% on corals..WE just didnt know if it would really add up to a savings. My redsea runs at 80 degrees all the time and I was told this was way too warm for any species. I ws going to buy them from a guy in Nashville who had a pair but we didnt end up keeping the tank up.. Yea, they are like an inch! :)
