I was wondering if i could get a hand from someone familiar with F. Lateralis breeding. We have a female who is very very fat and gravid, she was mated at the same time as our other F. lateralis. The one laid her eggs approximately 2 weeks ago, I do not know for sure as we just got these guys and the eggs.
How long can it take for the second girl to lay? We have humidity and temps set to suggested temps, and her laying bin is nice and moist (not sopping). Our concern is she is very very big, and she seems to be breathing with her mouth slightly open. We contacted our herp vet about it and he assured us that chams can have some problems breathing if they have lots of eggs causing slight pressure to the lungs. He did not recommend we brought her into the clinic today due to stress reasons.
Currently she is sitting under her bask light a dark brownish with re/peachis coloring with her head tilted slightly up and mouth slightly open maybe 1 mil open. We haven't seen her near the bottom of the enclosure and the lower half is covered so she has privacy once down in the bin.
Thanks
