Anyone else's Cham lick branches

T-Rex just randomly licks braches? Anybody else's do that?

Yes, I've noticed Nitro doing that frequently. Especially when I set him on a bush or something outside. The first thing he does is take a couple licks.

Yes! I've been wondering why they do that. I've only seen my panthers do it... Not my veileds but they routinely lick the same spots.....

yes, they all do that. I am not sure why or if anyone really knows. It is like they are testing it out. I should clarify the Panthers do it anyways. Usually when I set them on something new a branch, vine, they lick it!

My panther does it all the time. He especially likes to do it on his basking branches that are usually bone dry.

My own personal belief is that they leave scent marks on the branches from their cloaca and feet and can smell or taste themselves or others! My Male does it especially after a Female has been running all over His cage! I'm no expert but this is what I have witnessed and thought!

My Panther also does that, I think they taste the branch for other chameleons, its almost like a dog marking its territory.
