Ive noticed my panther likes to sleep on my hand, i guess because of the heat coming from my hand. But there could be a possibility that he might be ill. When he is in his cage, is he active? does he eat and drink and all that?

yes i suspect he has a RI. he has been sleeping upright, wheezing and gasping...have a vet appointment in a few hours to make sure he will be okay.

p.s he is very active and eats his mealworms and drinks plenty of water....doesn't care for crickets all that much, weird.

There could be a few things going on. He might be so stressed, he has frozen in place to try to hide from the big scary predator, you. Chameleon's naturally spend a lot of time in one spot, waiting for some food to come into range. There might be some of that going on. I am more inclined to think he is over stressed and shutting down.

There is also the possibility that he is ill.

If he's not doing this in the cage then it could be that he is cooler on your hand and thinking its getting to be time for bed.

chams dont sleep in daytime, when they do something is wrong and it is best to see a vet. when you pick them up and close thier eyes is simptom of extrem stress just leave him alone and it should be fine
