Anyone bred pygmys?

Have any of you bred pygmys or know how to? I'm interested in getting into it.

1. Get the enclosure done
2. Order the Chameleons
3. Put em together
4. They breed
5. They lay eggs in about a month
6. Incubate the eggs for about two months

I heard the eggs are so small you can't find them etc ?

They are about the size of Tic-Tacs. Then you look for an area that has been disturbed and dig with gentleness because you don't want to damage the eggs. When you find them, keep them in a moist vermiculite container thing between 70-80ish degrees.

Is spag moss ok instead of vermiculite?

I've left eggs in the enclosure and had them hatch also.

Ya thats true, but if you dig them up then they can be straight into a new enclosure after they hatch. Umm that should work as long as you keep it moist and watch it, it might mold.

So are females always gravid etc?

No, they breed once and can have two or three clutches of 2-4 eggs. Depending on how many times they have bred before and how many clutches.

So how will I know when I can actually breed them and IF they have actually mated?

YOU don't breed them. YOU put them together, and they do the rest.

You might never know. Or she might get plump, then suddenly a bit skinnier. Chances are unless you are there to monitor them every waking hour, that you won't know what the cycles are. You just need to trust their instincts and keep them healthy and happy.
