Now that cold weather is approaching (and for worms kept in the fridge) the phoenix worms are pretty sluggish. So here is what I did. I use a small ceramic feeder dish for the worms and I just put it on the stove for about 30 seconds to slightly heat the dish, it is cool enough to pick up with bare hands, put the worms in and voila, in a few seconds they are twisting around all over the place!:)
 
hmm....no, but I have been known to pinch a silk to get it to move more- :p but I know what you mean, I have put some of my "fridge snacks" on a warm wet paper towel to wake them up - but that is a good idea you have as long as it is not to hot - :)
