I play guitar in my 7th and 8th grade jazz band. We just recently had our second festival, and we got four superior ratings and two +superior ratings which are rarely given out :D We were the only band out of 30+ jazz bands (middle and high) to get the +superior. Fun fun.

Here are two of the 3 songs we did
Oye coma va (I did the guitar solo)

hey, good job! great to see young talent & other musicians on this forum! you guys have aton of potential? did you improvise the parts of that solo? some pretty nice runs! ive been a part of the toronto jazz scene since i was 14, playing guitar since i was 7. went on to producing hiphop(yup from jazz to hip hop.lol actually made some samples used by justblaze for jay electronica tracks. now im playing in a soul type band at local places downtown t.dot. anyways, keep up the good work! i love to see young guitar players actally playing music instead of playing boring ass muted power chords in some shitty metal band. keep playin dude!:)

:D thanks, yea the whole thing is improvised, well all of my solo's are improvised :D and thanks, those boring muted poer chords are easy, but getting boring fast, but not blues and Jazz :)

thats the ony way to go wen soloing:) jazz & blues all the way. not to cut up all metal, but u know what i mean. over here when we improvise live, its called drippin that hotsauce on the track! them tasty notes! jazz & blues get even more fun wen you start dropping those roots into your own more modern songs, whatever the genre. i personally love playing with a dj, bassist, keys, mpc player, drummer, singer & rapper! i miss playing with a brass or string section tho. so powerful! keep bangin out that music! peace young homie!
