Chameleon- veiled , male, Aprox 1 year old , I've had him for 1.5 months
Handling - I try and touch/pet him Everyday I would like for him to be social
Actual handling whenever he climbs on to my hand when held out ( hasn't wanted out for at least two weeks )
Feeding - superwoman, wax worms, meal worms ( to try as something else to get him to feed ) low quality horn worms ( they die in 24 hrs from purchase and he hasn't been eating then either - usually runs for the big blue monsters ) butter worms and I still put crickets in his dish- I break their legs to keep them in the dish because I find them biting Zeusasaurus and that annoys me /also makes me a terrible person lol ( he has only ever eaten 1 cricket since I've had him, lady that had him before sia dhe just stopped eating them.) -added note she fed him only wax worms
Ps I gut load the superworms, and crickets ( not that he eats them ) with a good diet of everything and anything from my fridge - and calcium and vita added to gutload
Supp- exo-Terra multi/calcium
Once per week each - I gut load crickets and super worms with calcium and vitamins as well. ( -I dont know if there is validity in doing that - I'm just trying different things as I know I should be giving calcium more -but I was checking to see if he just didn't like the powder taste /ftp I put to much thought into this )
Watering - monsoon 2.5 hrs for 40 seconds at a very fine mist as to upkeep the humidity
3x a day he gets misted with hand pump ....untill I'm satisfied he has had water ( always drinks )
Also has a dripper at top of cage - I swear he doesn't recognises this as a water source though
Fecal- he's dyhydrated . Orange poop with a white cap. Little to no black poop and a "sperm plug" thing after
History- 1.5 months living in out house came from a small cage ( I never actually seen it ) I'm not sure how he was kept ect. I started off with the big tank on the bottom with a mesh top ....quickly realized that wasn't going ro work and made the cage you see in the pic - any suggestions would be so appreciated when it come to ideas on new or alterations I could do ( I can build anything- )
Temp - 70' bottom 95 maybe a bit more at very top. Night temp 70' ( same as my house is kept, no heat source at night )
Humidity - falls during the night as I turn off the mister because it's cold and I think it disrupts his sleep. So around 40-50% by morning back up to 80% during day. I live in Canada it's cold and dry as a popcorn fart)
I use a humidity Guage in the middle of the tank
Cage - please have a look at posted pic it's a mixture of glass and screen and open concept it's big and 7 feet tall , he's the highest of us all.
Lighting - I'm really struggling here guys
3 uvb bulbs 100 exo-Terra
1 natural light
1 75 watt basking - I think it's too hot!! ( move the branch down??? Or get a new wattage????)
2 regular house bulbs 60 watt for light as its kinda dark in there .
Plants - all fake at the top
Coca, bamboo,spider, ivy, hibiscus, orchid all at the bottom he does go down there, as far as I can tell a ) he doesn't eat the plants b) they are all non toxic or so the Internet says haha ( except the orchid )
Placement - living room, it's an active room 3 people ( husband myself and our son) 2 dogs - don't really have anywhere else to put him
- might be drafty too ( at -30'c everything is drafty )
Height is 7'.7"
