Any thoughts on home made mister before I install?

Any thoughts on this design before I properly install it? I had most of it around from an idea to keep mudskippers that never came to be.

It drips about every 4 seconds and produces a steady flow of mist, I was thinking of having it on a timer for 5 mins 3-4 times a day.

Only thing I was worried about is that I read somewhere that the ultrasonic misters can play havoc with Ph levels but I have yet to test this.

Pretty it ain't but functional maybe!!

looks like more of a fog than a mist. ive built a ton of home made misters and foggers and all in all, im much more pleased with the auto misters sponsored through this site. just fill the resevoir and set the timer and forget about it for a few weeks.

I agree with Josh more of a fogger, good for humidity. I think your setup is very creative.

If you want a true misting system - Herpmist or a mistking will be the answer to all. They are awesome. I can't begin to tell you how much easier my life has become since I got one.

if you were to get a humidifier, a cool mist ultrasonic humidifier is what most people will recommend.

ive always been skeptical of foggers. With a misting system your cham will normally drink under the mister if hes thirsty becuase the droplets are a much easier size to drink. With a fogger, he'll probably end up inhaling 75% of the fog which could turn into a recipe for uri.

That's not mist; that's fog. The droplets of fog are around 1 to 20 microns and are small enough to be inhaled. Mist is about 50 microns. An animal breathing fog regularly when they're not designed to do it has a greatly increased chance of getting an upper respiratory infection and possibly even pneumonia.

It looks cool, but there's a lot of cool looking stuff that isn't good for herps.

(Note: I would say this even if I didn't sell misting systems.)
