Hey,

I am looking for other skilled artists to pick your brain as far as "progress". Also a great place to post your work!!!


I suppose I will start. The drawing bellow was done in 2B graphite with the background done in 6B graphite.

heres an Iguana i painted :)

sorry abt the glare on its arm.

it was done in abt 48 hours total time(mabey less) and is framed. its my first paint that i strucuted and the first time i used that medium. I was used to oils so everything was new to me. i was comissioned for two(green tree frog and an anole) last summer however cuddnt compleate them in the time given and for the money the woman wanted to pay i didnt even try. :p. i plane on doing a cham this summer for myself. i learned never to paint for anyone but me.

nice job,...Yes I have been commisioned from fellow classmates, but it seems hard to find time and motivation to do well, so I quite doing so.
 
I'll add some stuff. The first two are class projects from my brief semester at art school before switching back to biology. The first is color pencil and the other is all painted in Photoshop 7 with a digital tablet. It was supposed to be a self portrait with the "four elements," which I thought was stupid, so blegh. And then is an unfinished portrait of a chameleon (Fierce the ambilobe to be exact) that is also digital. Still have to do the branch he's on, but haven't had time.

I've never had luck with painting, but I also have neve truely tried. Ive done like 1 picture with paint in my entier life.
 
I used to be good at drawling, unfortunately the Parkinsonism I have kinda killed that :( I still do a bit of design work and have started doing more photography. I'll dig out some of my past work (mostly charcoal tomorrow to show off).

I know what you mean about life things altering what we love to do and no longer can. I would love to see your drawings!! :)
 
So I will start off with commenting first on the Johnny Depp Pic! You are a man(chamguy) after my own heart! I LOVE him and that character from the movie! Great pic! The Iguana is awesome! Olimpia you are so talented! Your work is beautiful. Congrats to all of you. I am so jealous and which I had your talents!!! :D
 
Thanks carol5208, I just started working with portraits last fall ( 2011). Before that I mainly did animals. I like to do people tho, since the audience I draw for can relate to it easier than a chameleon. Although, I'm going to start playing with color, so i'll be back to reptiles shortly.
 
OP. great sketch and shading. C'ptain Sparrow is the shiiiz. As personal opinion, i would only work on the shadings around the side of the nose. Otherwise, excellence..

Okiroo, didn't know you were an arteest! that is amazing!

Olimpia, i would absolutely LOVE to have Alice In Cham-Land as a poster and put it in my room. i am in-love with those graphics. is there anyway you could make this happen?
