any ideas on the black line across his back?

His heat is about 70 where he basks, and he can't get higher than that, it's about 5 inches from the light too so I don't think it would be a burn mark. What do y'all think?

Its an old burn. The skin will stay black till fully healed, but at least its good skin. Any "damage" will cause black skin, even rubbing very hard on the cage/stick.

Sometimes my Cham Van does that but on different places on his side, it’ll be black or brown or white. The advertisement post he was in after looking at it for a long while I realized one of the branches was actually his side lol I thought the stripe was a branch. Only way to tell is if it ever changes color there…
