I am currently using it with three of my chameleons.
I bought it for Trucker as a possible health boost, as I felt he was not his usual self after an skin leision illness last summer. I had great difficulty injecting sufficient reptaid into crickets, but by switching to roaches was able to get the proper dose into Trucker. After only three days of the full dose he went into a full body shed (a very good, much needed, overdue shed). And his energy level did seem to increase.
I was also giving a lesser dose to two other believed to be healthy chameleons, who also did a nice full sheds soon afterwards, but I otherwise noticed no change good or bad in their behaviour.
Only a few days into using reptaid, Trucker happened to have then tested positive for pinworms (something that had never happened with any of my chameleons before, so a big deal for me). I stopped using reptaid and began panacur, simply because it is known to work whereas reptaid is simply reported to work.
However, I decided to continue the reptaid with both of the other two chameleons, one of whom might very well also have pinworms (I've not got results of a fecal back yet so Im not sure) and one who (so far) does not (according to the fecal done at the same time as Truckers).
If this third chameleon has a low load of worms, I think I'll continue the reptaid, at full dose for the recommended number of days, and see if it clears the issue up without panacur. I'll try to remember to post my experience with this chameleon, in terms of whether or not he does have pinworms and if the reptaid does help.
Im continuing the lower dose for the third chameleon in the hope it will help prevent or deal with possible exposure to pinworms. These three chameleons are housed close to one another, but not in the same cage obviously and I am quite good about hygene. But still, cant hurt to use the reptaid, eh?
So in summary, I believe I saw improved energy and definately attribute a good shed to Reptaid. I have experienced no ill effects. I will let you know if I get any evidence about pinworm control.
I recommend you have a look at the reptaid website, as there are several testimonials on there from other users of the product.
