I have been lurking for a couple of weeks gathering a ton of great information. I found the forum from the Melleri Discovery after i impulse bought a WC Mellers at a pet store without any research. I have a veiled thats over a year old and raised from a two knuckle baby. I went looking for another Frilled Dragon after losing the one I had for several years. This Melleri was in a black mesh soft cage and looked stressed. The owner of the store seemed semi knowlegable about Chams having raised a very nice looking super friendly veiled and told me about a panther breeding project he is working on. Mel was eating and drinking and pooping well with a great grip and the eyes when the owner put her into my hand Hooked. The owner said Mel was in quarantine for three weeks before being put in the store and then was not even priced for a week when I bought him/her. Saw it 4 days earlier when I was in the store. I love this store and try to stop every time I am in this town. All reptiles and spiders (Can do without the spiders). Had a 3'x3'x4'cage and enough experience to raise another lizard. Was addicted to Chams for several years. I have had Jacksons before the veiled. Now I think more Melleri & looking to build a free range. Would love to have a couple of Panthers too. This is a really BAD hobby Cant just have one :). Mel eats Good and was a little dehydrated when I got her home but has been drinking twice a day and a constant drip going about a quart a day with mistings in the morning and the evening after work. Shes now about half way thru a shed which kind of scared me after reading the lip thread and looking at her flap and seeing the start of her shed on the flap :) thought it was a fungus.
I also read the Melleri Discovery site from cover to cover some awesome information That lady is a great source of information. Her article on Senegals was amazing. Some pictures of the new baby.

Well hello there, glad you joined us. you are correct that chameleons are a very addictive hobby, bad news so is this forum. hear from you again soon:)

Welcome; pretty (or handsome) Mel! - As impulse buys "without any research" go, I've seen much worse; looks like you knew where to go for info, and have some pretty decent background.
Mind my asking which pet store? - I have friends/colleagues in Carbondale (SIU) and am occasionally in that neck of the woods.

The Tye-Dyed Iguana in Fairview Heights Il. His Veiled is free roaming on some slow days in the store. Areally nice young hippie couple own the store seem to have a decent amount of knowledge on alot of different reptiles. He insisted on representing this as Wild caught said some folks misrepresent these chams. I did not know why he was so adamant about wild caught until I did my homework.
