Another eye question

I've been reading some of the post concerning eye trouble. I have recently purchased a young male veiled. He has a great appetite, drinks plenty, and looks great. After a couple of days he began to blink and roll his eye behind the lid, as if to wash an irritant away. I have check everything I can think of and finally came to feel that it was the 10.0 exoterra light. Replacing it with a different type, he has blinked less and acts a little more comfortable. I have no access to a vet right now. Does anyone have any other ideas. Also, if the uv was the irritant should the eyes return to normal. Sorry if this is any way a redundant question, but I'm running out of ideas.

i put my chams in a shower chamber everyday and every time they roll the eyes to clean. i would imagine if the eyes are irritated this would be great for yours.

Tried the shower. Doesn't seem to be much change. Noticed it usually closes on eye at at time.(only for short times when it does) The other is constantly keeping a lookout. Noticed today it rubbed against its branches. Skin looks a little like it is getting ready to shed. Other than that, appetite is great and activity is high. Is this at all normal. I've only been around a couple of chameleons and they did not behave this way. Most of my experience is from anoles and my water dragon.

I had a similar issue when I had a 10.0 UVB bulb on my male panthers cage. I raised the light with some wood blocks and it seemed to help the situation. I would get the 5.0 as Jannb suggested though. Another thing that helped with the eye scratching was makign sure he was well hydrated. After getting some horn worms and making sure he had several of those over the course of a week, his eyes were open and he stoppped scratching. I am convinced that hydration is the key when it comes to this particular eye issue.

I'm picking up a new 5.0 like yall are recommending in the morning. I have increased his misting and installed a fogger as well. He drinks well from the dripper already and hope he keeps it up. On top of that I'm going to continue the showers. He does not enjoy them too much but he needs to get used to it. If this does not improve I will travel to the vet. I'm kinda out in the middle of nowhere and forums like this one have become a lifeline. Thanks for the help.
