Another baby quad died

In the excitement of finding the 8 baby quads that hatched in less than 25 days, see "Quad eggs took less than 25 days to hatch!!!", I haven't yet mentioned that one more of the 14 babies that hatched starting at the end of April died. :( I found him the same day and right before I checked on the 18 eggs (among which were the 8 huge eggs). I now have 12 from that group, having lost a female and now this little male. Both of those two were smaller than most of the others. Although I'm not sure why they died, I have some ideas. Hopefully, the other 12 will continue to do well. I just wanted to share this sad news because I feel we learn just as much from bad experiences as we do from good ones. I definitely have more baby quads than I should and certainly have my hands full. I plan on thinning out some whan I get home from vacation.

So sorry to hear this Perry, Those lil quads are such gems but can be a handfull.( as you know ) When you are ready to let some goto new homes I am always looking for quads. esp females.
Best of luck with them, and I hope your Vacation is great!!

That is sad news Perry. But hey you are doing well with them overall. Sadly losing a couple smaller one's can happen. Keep us posted on the rest. You just have to hang in there. I finally posted pictures of my new baby quad TJ. There is just nothing like a baby quad it there? I have had and hatched a good few chams and quads are just the cutest babies out there. But sometimes they are the ones that worry me the most. If you look at what you have done you are way ahead of the curve. R.I.P little ones.

Have a wonderful vacation with the family.

You're quite right about that.
I hope that the rest of your crew of youngsters makes it.
Sorry to learn of your loss.
