i just talked to the owner of the pet store that sold me lokni. (i had lokni for 3 days before he died. he was sick when i took him home and i took him to the vet the next day.) he says they dont guarantee any of their animals and they are not at fault. they dont know what conditions i had kept him in, and that i shouldnt have taken him to the vet. he says i should have brought him back to the pet store when i noticed he was ill, and now that i've involved a veterinarian, they are completely not at fault. he says he doesnt know what the vet could have done to the little guy, it could have been why he died. therefore, he will not be doing anything to help me out, except offering me another chameleon.

...i dont want another chameleon. i wanted lokni. and i want them to take liability for their screw ups. they had him in a tiny glass aquarium with at least 10 other chams. i cant imagine they were keeping them all hydrated or fed as much as they should have. my other chameleon looks 10x better now that she's home with me. and why would i take him back to the pet store? so they could exchange him for another? i wanted my little guy healthy, so i took him to the dr. the vet gave him fluids and that's all. i dont think vets are out to kill their patients.

Call the GM, or you can report them to the BBB (better business burea i think it's called)

I'm sorry about your little guy :(
Don't let that turn you off of chams tho, they are great. I would go to a breeder on here though, half the time petstores neglect them.

i think it's a little self owned store. and he was the owner. :( it's ridiculous, but i do have another cham from them and she's amazing. at least there's that.

You can still report them. Especially since they aren't caring for the chameleons properly. I think it would be easier to report them since they aren't a "big name"

At least you have your girl, I'm really sorry about your lil man :(

That's rediculous for him to imply that his crappy husbandry had nothing to do with Lokni dying, but the Veterinarian somehow killed him! If it weren't so incredibly sad it would be funny bc of how crazy it sounds! I'm so sorry you went through this. I went through something similar with my little guy. Watching a sick baby wither away is no fun at all. :( The guy I got mine from says he will replace it, but I know this one will be a teeny baby too young to go to a new home, just like mine was. I have decided to just forget him and get one from someone on here. That way I know it has been taken care of and loved and is old enough to come live with me. I wish you and your little female the best(sorry, I can't remember her name). She is a little cutie! There are lots of people on here that breed veileds if you decide you want to get another one! :)

Good Choice :D

thank you! i agree. i was like "why would i want to get another cham from you?" im sorry, but they will not be seeing my business again. and if i decide to get another one, i will definitely be going through a reputable breeder.

Yeah I wish I had got my Melon from a breeder on this site rather then the local owned pet store, mainly just because of the husbandry issues and wrong information.

My next chameleon will be from a breeder on these forums for sure.
