Angry Veiled Chameleon :(

I got my first baby chameleon from a local reptile store about 2 weeks ago.
After the first few days she has seemed to hate me. Whenever, I open the cage she changes color and if my hand even goes within the cage she begins to hiss and lunge at my hands. Today, I tried to hand feed her a meal worm but she refused to eat it, just continued to hiss at me.
Is there any way I can improve her behavior? Thanks!

She is now getting territorial over her new home and you are an intruder. Stick to as much of a predictable daily routine (automate lights or misting too...chams like routine) as you can so she'll soon learn to recognize you (you might wear the same color shirt for a while to help). She may calm down more over time and you can start offering her a favorite feeder by hand. Start off with the feeder in a container so she doesn't have to take it from your hand directly.

my jackson's was the same way, because of his reaction to me, i don't handle him, but he is fine with me now feeding him and cleaning his cage, when i need to move him, i move the entire plant he is on, but he doesn't lunge or hiss at me anymore. maybe yours just needs to get used to you
