Anger management

My chameleon lately gets angry for no reason. I opened his cage to give him water and he grew black spots, I didn't do anything but he started acting differently. He won't let me hold him and he won't want anyone near him. Can someone explain? This has been going on for a few days......

Can you give us more info about your Cham, like what species, age, how long you've had it etc?

He is a 4 month old veiled chameleon and I have had him for 2 weeks

He has been in his enclosure for 2 weeks and during that time he has scouted the enclosure and claimed the area as his own. 2 weeks is not enough time for your chameleon to tolerate you. So, when you open his enclosure, you are invading his territory. This coupled with the fact that he hasn't been in your care for a very long time is why he is showing these defensive colorations. It takes time. But remember every chameleon has their own individual personalities. He may settle in nicely and calm down or he could always be a booger! You never know at that age.
