Andrew Fell Today - What to Look For?

Hi Everyone:

I went in today to mist Andrew and he was on the bottom of the cage ... I went to pick him up and he climbed back up the plants very quickly. What should I be looking for to know if he is ok or not?

Obviously if he is favoring a limb or something, watch for that. More than likely your chamelon is fine. Mine has fallen before and has never gotten hurt. I wouldn't worry too much about it. i have seen threads on here before and it happens all the time and 9 times outta 10 they recieve no injuries.

Yea, chameleons are built to withstand pretty good falls and be just fine. A 2-4' fall is not a big deal to these guys, unless they have a bone deficiency. Like Carol said, if he's not using one of his legs, or if there is swelling, then there might be an issue.

If he was already on the bottom are you sure he fell? maybe he was just exploring? If you think he fell just watch a couple of days for any unusual behavior. If he got up and headed up the tree he is most likely fine.

Ok awesome - well we did redo the cage but i had never seen him down there before ... but he is looking perfectly fine now ... ibv just a mini-freak out on my part ... just love the little man so much
