And the worry begins!

So I'm incredibly nervous, I'm heading to the vets in the morning and worrying like crazy and don't know who to tell except you guys! Looks like my baby has MBD or something very similar :( Poor guy, guess I'll find out soon enough and let you guys know. Never thought I'd have to deal with this problem with a cham whose had perfect care all his life. I'm not a happy camper...nor is my wallet.

Thank you, I'm hoping it's only in the early stages and will be easily manageable...he'll just be my little "cheap" pet ;)

He's a little over 5 months and an Ambilobe, the only explanation we can have (as I've briefly talked to the vet) is he could just be more susceptible to MBD and possibly got less UVB rays as a baby if he was grouped with others and got kicked down lower in the cage.

It's just a big pain and my poor cham :( He's had perfect care from his breeder and since I've had for about 2 1/2 months, plus he's been out in sun almost daily for a few hours, it's frustrating!

Also he's been perfectly healthy, eating like a pig, perfect droppings, shedding without any problems. Frustrating :mad:

Well, he'll probably pull through ok then - just don't be breeding from the vulnerable little money pit :)

Oh and here's a pic...you can clearly see how he's not using his hind legs normally, more just moving with his knees and compensating his lack of movement in the hind legs with his tail. This pic is a little old (about 3 weeks), he hasn't become worse but not better so I need him to get healthy as he can be!

P.S. His lip is normal...he was born with a little blemish...my special boy :)

Ha! No kidding...I would never breed him anyway, especially with the issues he has. He doesn't fall since I've such a thick plant in his cage that it's pretty impossible. I was planning on buying a female for my fischer...guess not for awhile longer!

Hopefully everything will be okay! He looks healthy apart from his legs!

I just can't figure out the leg thing. It's a good thing he has a good temperament at least as today will be a long day for both us! I'll let you guys know :)

Well cross your fingers everyone, hopefully I'll get some good news...I'm definitely worried that there won't be much we can do :(:(

is can o crickets bad for him
It's not good for him.....not too often. Crickets are much better live, and gutloaded with veg, and dusted with calcium powder. What kind of Chameleon do you have?

It's definitely better to go with live crickets as you can gutload them and make them a lot more nutritional for your chameleon.
