Ambilobe x Nosy Be cross

What kind of colors can I expect out of breeding a male Ambilobe and a female Nosy Be?

The problem is you cannot really expect anything

While no chameleon is "ugly" some crosses come out "better" than others.

I have seen some beautiful AmbiNosy's... and others that were less stunning.

When cross breeding (which many members here are against, but really its your choice so eh), you can't really expect anything to come out in a certain way. Some members say its the best part because each clutch (and each baby for that matter) will be very different.

My accidental clutch of Nosbilobes yielded varied results. Some look like Nosy's, and some look like Nosy's with orange barring, and one looks like he is going to appear very Ambilobe like. Here are 2 clutchmates:

Agreed, there's no way to know. Each male might well be different.
though Blue/green with orange bars seems fairly common from that mix (such as my avatar)

One thing to be aware of if you are planning to sell the babies once you have bred your chams ( and I would hope you are since you will end up with possilbly 80 or more of them!) you may not get as much for a cross especially the females. I am not sure if you have bred panthers before but you can expect a lot of eggs from a single mating (up to 4 clutches of fertile eggs). Again, I dont know your level of experience and I dont want to sound preachy, but you should read the breeding thread if you already haven't. I just want to make sure you know what you are getting into

If you want to be able to have some kind of expectation of what the offspring will look like, dont cross breed. Breed pure Nosybe and pure Ambilobe, and then you'll have a very good idea of what you'll end up with. Cross-breeding results are always a coin-toss, so if you dont like mysteries and suprise results, you shouldnt do it.

Dont do it. Jmo but what are you going to do with 20 or more female crosses? No offense but you arent going to have a big market for them.

One should always have a plan for selling or giving away the offspring, regardless of whether they are crosses or not. Crosses may be harder to market where you live (male or female). Though imho you are unlikely to get 20 female (a standard panther clutch size is in the twenties, and roughly half will be male).
