Ambanja or Ambilobe?????

I truely agree with you Catherine, but there is a but... lol This fella is now possibly contaminating the 100% pure Ambanja bloodlines along with the fella he sold the other ambilobe as ambanja to. They are most likely breeding these ambilobe males with ambanja females then, selling the offspring as Ambanja when in fact, they are a 50/50 cross. A good looking cham is a good looking cham, as long as someone knows what they are getting when they purchase it :D

I ditto that........

Oh I ditto that for sure. It's great that Panthers are becoming more and more popular. The downside is there is an increased potential for undisclosed locale mixes entering the market.

That's probably what is going on... everyone is "right" on this one.

Win win...good looking chameleon...everyone's right...happiness everywhere. :D

The VERY LARGE spots indicate it is "probably" an ambanja. You really don't see too many LARGE spots on ambilobes. Now, before anyone goes nuts here, i know ambilobes sometimes have spots, but in general the spots are not nearly as large as ambanjas.

I am semi-curious why the OP is soo upset, it seems as if there is a personal "bone" to pick with geomelon.

I think this is a really tough call, especially since we are dealing with ambanja, which can have some of the craziest looking panthers around.

Sure this cham has signs of being ambilobe, but i think if you really look at it, it definately has some telltale ambanja markings.

any that is just my opinion, and you think i would have learned already to stay out of controversial threaDS!

here is a link for everyone to see what has transpired to make this thread here

He can go ahead and sell it as ambanja, all I know is I'm sticking to it's more then likely Ambilobe. If you wanna know why I'd be upset, he was a complete jerk from his very 1st reply to me on fauna classifieds.

You must be his buddy considering you're from florida too.

You are right, he can sell it anyway he wants to, especially if he is selling it as what it IS.

So if GE-AFF is a jerk to you in his reply, don't buy it, but from the fauna thread you two seem like little old grannies arguing over a 3% tip at denny's.

This animal is 100% ambanja, was purchased as 100% ambanja, and is being sold as 100% ambanja!!!

If it is not AMBANJA, which it is, the responsibility would be in that of the original seller, which would be screameleons.

It's CAPTIVE HATCHED!!!! Tell me it's 100% Ambanja 1 more time, please!!

Umm, no, acutually, i don't care for him personally at all, especially the way he talks in some of these threads, which is why he isn't posting here anymore.

Sure, be pissed and don't like the guy, but this is a public forum and you are calling him a liar. He may be an a-hole to you, but a liar about this being an ambanja i think not!

Alright Chameleontario,
Lets take it easy we are all entitled to our opinions. Like Vincent said in that email its tricky. The animal is CH so no one knows where exactly that female came from. Maybe it came from Ambanja maybe from Ambilobe we dont know. Nothing in Madagascar is stopping a chameleon from crossing an imaginary line and being considered a totally different locale. So yes that animal does color wise look like an ambilobe but physical features its taking the side of an Ambanja. Who knows it could be a CH mutt. Only god knows we don't. Lets try and keep this thread going with the least amount of contraversy as possible. But in my " OPINION " im leaning towards the Ambanja side. Good luck with finding out the info you need. :D

Not taking sides, just presenting the evidence as I see it, assuming the animal is 100% locale specific. His mother could very well have bred with a male from a different locale in a holding pen on the East Coast. What then? Is it a Tamatave? :D

I have seen a tamatvebilobe, but that thread got deleted and this thread is heading in the similiar direction!

Hey, I respect that you think it's Ambanja too. Everyone has the right to their opinion. From the very beginning of that ad on fauna, I stated my opinion and I got attacked. So I took it a step further to see what others thought.
