Does anyone know where i can buy some black aluminum screen in Canada? i am having second thoughts about buying an enclosure and would like to build one. i just cant find any black aluminum screen anywhere.

I havent seen black aluminum screen here. Home Depot does sell a variety of types to choose from. Aluminum, vinyl, petscreen, hardware cloth, plastic coated hardware cloth, and plastic mesh.

thats a great site. thank you. but which screen is a reasonable choice. I am kind of new to this cage building thing. i have a design in my head, i just have no idea what size of screen to use. i guess if i was able to see it i would know it, and thats the problem of ordering off of a website. i dont know which one to get. (my enclosure is going to be 20"X30"X48")

well if this helps, i tell ya what i had to use. im here in canada, i went to the home depot and bought 2 36"X72" (front, back and top) and 1 48"X72" (both sides - cut in half). its the black aluminum screen and its awesome. my cage is a bit bigger than yours at 30"X25"x61" so if you did go buy the same amount you wouldn't have to worry about running out. the extra i am using for my cricket container (rubbermaid): lid and the 2 short sides are screened. can never have too much :p

I am from Edmonton, Alberta. Toronto is pretty far away. I went to home depot and couldnt find anything. Which department did you find it in? thanks for all the help. this site is so great

Screening should be with the windows. Mesh and hardware cloth are near the vents/fencing/siding.

Will is totally right... did you ask for help when you went to the home depot? also, Rona and Home Hardware sells it too. i had to ask someone when i went there otherwise i would have been there for an hour looking through the isles! it was about 45 bux for the 3 rolls i bought...

Correct, the stores are huge, and the entire selection of mesh will be in one 4x8 foot section on a shelf. If the buildings follow the same general layout plan that the ones I've been to in Ontario have, Windows should be in the rear left of the store.

The prices are reasonable, if you shop around you can find it cheaper, but for the slight difference it's likely worth the time saved. Unless you are satisfied buying without seeing in person.

Goodluck.
