Spider leds?

Im not 100% but I dont think those colored lights are great for your little buddy, tho i know theyre high end growing fixtures for plants.

Your running a compact UVB bulb rather then a T5HO fixture... This will not be adequate for him. Also all the rope is a hazard as he can get his nails caught in it.

Blurple lights bad.

Its been shown they are not even good for plants. The logic behind it, when it first started was sound. The reality is it doesn't work as well as people thought it would.

The Blurple lights, follow the principle that Plants use Blue and Red only, green plants reflect green light (this doesn't apply to red plants, but the blurple lights are for only Green plants). So they thought, why waste power pushing yellow/green light when the plants reflect it.

That's not true though, they do use mostly blue and red, however they will still utilize yellows, and even UV. So using normal white lights is actually better, even for the plants. Its much better for the animals.

I was wondering/thinking/trying the light out. Heard ALOT and read ALOT on the different opinions. Some reason he tends to come to it mostly compared to the other lights. Even though I do plan on taking it out to see what he does/ likes from what I see after that.

Depends what you want and your level of being okay with DIYing.

He has "Board" style LEDs from the looks of it (maybe strip laid into a board).

In that form factor, for grow lights that are pretty easy I would look at the HLG boards, Super efficient, made for Horticulture gives right spectrums, and is white light :).

Its a good balance of easy for beginners, quality grow lights, and good pricing :).

Nothing wrong with good ole T5s.

LEDs just give more light per watt. If you have 1 or 2 cages, thats not as big of a deal. But the boards above, really aren't a good deal till you have a huge cage or multiples anyway :).
