Ahhh fire!!

I bought a 100 gallon screen cage from Josh's frogs online for my cham. Thought it would be perfect for him since he's getting older well it arrived and it's not what I expected! It was huge which I liked. but it was a zip up-fabric cover that you put over it total piss off I got his 2 in one bulb no cover light I put at the top for heating etc. It worked fine on his other screen cage. (Which had doors) well it burned holes!! the whole top smelled like plastic so bad! Defiantly not fire safe lol Any ideas how I can use that light fixture so it wont burn the fabric screen? it's the whole cage like I said it's zip up and I don't want to buy another cage or lighting

You must have purchased a reptarium. They make great outdoor caging, but the mesh used as the walls is not conducive to being used with hot lights and heaters, as you discovered, and since the fabric filters out 70% of light, it is not a good indoor cage, as the amount of UVB will be greatly reduced.

What do you recommend? I want him to have a huge cage like I said the 100 gallon is the perfect amount of space for him?

I love the reptariums, but like Andrew, they only serve their purpose to me in an outdoor setting.

The 100 gallon reptarium is 16.5"x30"x48". There are screen enclosures that are 24"x24"x48". You will lose some inches on the width, but gain inches on the depth. I would suggest going with a Reptibreeze, LLLReptile Screen Enclosure or a Dragon Strand. You will find sizes that are comparable and can handle the fixtures being placed directly on the enclosure.
