Hello!! My Spike is apparently 4 mos. I think he may be younger. Is there any way to tell exactly?

Welcome to the forums. This is a great place to learn about chameleons. How long have you had Spike? I have a veiled named Spike. Your Spike looks around 4 months. Where did you get him? There's no way to know his age for sure unless you find out from the breeder. He looks a bit skinny, unless it's just the picture. What all do you feed him and what are you using to Gutload your feeders? I also see a black spot on his tail, what's that? I have a panther named Hendershot and he's getting really old. I love all my chameleons allot and it's really sad to see them get old. :(

I JUST noticed that spot too!!!

I have no idea when that happened!!! I'm worried now. I made my husband take another pic of his tail... It's kind of silverish. Any ideas what it could be!?

As for what he eats, gut loaded crickets and meal worms for now. We plan on introducing him to more shortly.

I just posted on your other thread about his tail. I recommend a large variety of well gutloaded feeders. Silkworm, hornworms, butterworms and superworm will put some weigh on him. Mealworms aren't very good for chams. I also recommend a fecal just to rule out parasites. Parasites can keep them from growing and they look skinny. You might find my blog for new keepers helpful. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blo...-keepers-young-veiled-panther-chameleons.html
