Hello, group...
We have recently acquired a 2 year old male veiled and a 2 year old male ambilobe. They came from different locations, and of course, have their own enclosures not within eyesight of each other.
The male ambilobe is great - runs out of the cage everytime we go to see him - he loves the attention.
The male veiled is kind of moody. Sometimes he hisses like crazy, other times he just sits there on his perch. But he does not enjoy being handled like the ambilobe. And we are fine with that - we know they are solitary animals, and we have been giving him plenty of space.
Now to the question...we had gotten a suggestion that perhaps getting the male veiled a female playmate might help chill him out and make him more comfortable. So really, do you think this is a good or bad idea, and if it would be acceptable, what age female should I be looking for? Do I need a female that is also around 2 years old, or can we get a younger one?
Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions!!!
