Advice Please !

Hi

I have a baby red ambilobe panther chameleon which we is 11 weeks old, i feed small brown crickets in the day and then hand feed him at night as im not sure how many he is having in the day. he manages to eat between 2-4 at night by hand but im worried he may be small for his age as i have nothing to compare him to and not eating enough as im not there in the day to watch him. He is about 3-3 1/2 inch in length from head to the end of his tail. Ive have seen him shed once and has definantly grown from when we first got him. Has any one pics of a baby panther at around 12 weeks old and should i be worried that he is not eating enough

is anything wrong with your cham? if so you probably want to fill out the "how to ask for help" form. go to Forums, Health Clinic, and its the second tab on the list. ive heard that panthers grow slower than other species. do you powder your crickets with suppliments? you should probably go ahead and fill the form out so members on the forum will be able to help you out.

Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
Location - Where are you geographically located?

I have never heard that Panthers grow any slower than any other chameleon. I would say that they grow rather quickly.

If you are tossing the crickets into the cage and leaving them for the day, at the end of the day if they are not in the cage or not crawling around the room... YOUR CHAM ATE THEM!! It's pretty simple! I wouldn't feed him at night because as soon as the lights go out your cham wants to sleep. A meal is best digested when the cham is awake and warm, both of which do not happen at night. Feed him in the morning and let him sleep. How much are you feeding him?

Panthers do grow slower than let's say a veiled cham. My 3.5 month old veiled cham is bigger than the 3 .5 month old panther I am getting. I would not be worried on the size just yet. I do suggest filling out the ask for help form so we know what your working with.

Hi thanks for your replies, yea he is fine, very alert good skin condition and not dehydrated his faeces are ok and is urate is white, eating really well when i feed him. I feed him as soon as i get in from work at 4.45 pm 5 pm and he dosent go to bed until 7.30pm 8pm. Has Brown crickets and i dust these 2-3 times a week wih nutrobol a calcium and vitamin supplement. i mist him twice a day and he also has a dripper running in the day. he is definantly growing i just woundering if any one else had a panther of a similar age with pics i could see ?

he sometimes does have a few crickets left in the cage when i get back from work but not everyday.
