ADVICE NEEDED! Juvi panther

Hi Leilaskeepr,

PM me if you need a very affordable place for a fecal exam. Usually Vets in TO, charge the visit plus the exam. (more than a $100) Mine only charges me for the fecal exam, usually ready in 24hrs. If medication is needed, she will sell it to you too. Let me know if I can help. My vet is located in Markham.

Cheers,

I just want to say how much I admire you for taking this on...you're amazing. I think "Don't Panic!" should be your mantra. I think you're sort of like the person giving CPR at the site of a car wreck....without you, the victim would be dead. You can ask yourself if you could have done better, but the fact is, without you the victim would be dead.

Everything will work out because you are committed to make it happen.

A bit extreme but OK. Now using your example. After saving the 'victim's life' from a car crash by using CPR, would you deny the victim to be attended to by a qualified doctor or would you advice the savior to keep on treating the victim?

I guess I have to be the mean one here and not sugar coat it. But it has already been mentioned that a vet is in order. You've done everything you can. When it comes to force/syringe feeding that should be used as a last resort. The chameleon is actually speaking to you and you're not picking up on it. It's drinking and hydrating itself but not eating. It's not weak that it can't feed itself. Common sense tells you it has to be something internal. Force feeding by an untrained keeper can do more harm than good. There's an issue of aspirating and stressing the chameleon's system further. Absolute resolution is in a qualified vet's hands and not advice you get from a forum site. Don't think I don't have a bleeding heart for this case. I do understand the economy SUCKS right now and there are things that are priority than spending it on a vet. But the reality is not going to be a home remedy that will make it a quick fix. As mentioned before you might find it a home that can provide it's medical needs. Search out a reptile rescue in your area.

Good luck!
