Adult spots or something bad?

My veiled chameleon (male) has been in my care for about a month now, and he is fairly comfortable with me around/in his cage to feed him. I think he may be around 6-7 months old, but definitely isn't an adult yet.

This isn't really a terrible issue, but I just wanted to know if these spots on his head are adult colors (like I've been thinking) or if they're the beginning of a disease?

I might just be very paranoid. He has been acting a bit grumpy lately and I have yet to see him shed, so maybe he's just growing up a little bit.

Thanks. Here is a picture. He's sleeping so the black dots stand out against his pale green sleeping colors..

Again, I'm new to this whole chameleon thing and I'm super paranoid about every little thing he does. Just want some feedback so I can learn.

Those might be past bruises or other injuries from transportation. I know when i get "cham in a bag" shipped their head ridges are black for several weeks just due to some rubbing. He should be all sleep colored after one peel.

I'll keep that in mind. Nothing to worry about, though, right? I don't think they're bruises though because I got him from petco where they kept him in horrible condition and he must have been there for at least five months, and I took him home in a box with some sticks and made sure my little guy didn't get hurt.

After he sheds he will be pale color, you mean?

He don't look to be 6-7 months old, his veil is pretty small, I would guess his age like 4-5 months old really. My veil will be 7 months old on the 1st of Feb and its very much bigger then your little guy. But you could just have a small guy also.. Now the way his veil looks with the black on it almost looks like he rubs it and has bruised it. But i'm no expert really on that.

He does look quite small (how sure are you of age/sex?), and the picture is pretty unclear. Could you get a better pic of his head? It could be bruises or just adult colour........or something else.......

Not all crests are perfect, some go all over the place for one reason or another. Still from the more clear photos it still looks like slight bruising. It could be something as simple as him rubbing his eyes on a branch to remove the shed. The head seems to be the most sensitive. Mine will get dark spots just from me holding its head while i work on him.

As others have stated that is not a 6 month old.

To me from the new (old :)) pictures it looks like normal colouring.
I think he is a bit younger than your estimate, maybe 5 months old now? Of course maybe he just didn't get much food at Petco......

I think maybe it might be bruising then. I've never seen him shed so his last might have been recent.

Thanks guys I will keep a look out for any problems I might encounter.
