Carrot is fine. It turns their poop orange. :D

Rachelle, (pigglett79) told me it was fine to feed the fresh fruits and veggies.

once I ran out of chow for breeder worms- they only got carrot - it turned the WORM orange- lol - and when I raise silks in summer- I only feed them the berry as babies- they turn purple - somewhere ??? in my many post- lol, - there is a pic of purple baby silks :p ( when ever I try to start them on chow - I kill them w/ it - so I only do them in the summer )

That is too funny Cheryl! I'm going to search for that picture. I must have missed it.

I think it is the food section someplace- it was about a yr ago - the post will be there - not so sure about the pic tho - I ran out of room for pics, so I went and deleted a bunch of pic on my threads about 4 mos ago :( I was not even the one who noticed they were turning purple- someone commented on how purple they were - then I was like - OH - they are - I will try to find it too :)

hmm ? do the post only save for one yr ? I went to try to find that Jann, and when I clicked " search all post" - it only goes 20 pages, and all in 2014 ? how do you look at older stuff ?

that was a fun day- lol - but not the one I am looking for- but I am almost sure I had to dump the pic - it could have even been posted on someone elses thread - it was a comment like " what kind of silks are they- I have never seen purple ones - something like that - I wish I did not have to dump pics- I try to not dump any on post that are showing info - but that was like a gen/ pic - darm me ! I am almost 100% its gone, and now w/ my old pc dead- so are all my old pics - the only pics I have of Olive are on this site and fb :( :( I will never dump those - I miss her :(

You can feed the them a variety of greens and veggies. I would give them a variety to be sure they stay healthy enough to pupate.

Of course not. They like to roam around like lunatics for a couple days first. Lol
Makes me remember when yours got loose and hubby stepped on one hahahahaha

at least they are not roaming threw my BED SHEETS like last time- LOL OMG I had them all over the house - I did not notice they were getting out unitl Dave stepped on one - then all the ones that I did not catch hatched into moths all over the house  - this time I have them well trapped ;)

Question related to this thread: I recently bought 2 different kind of worms but I honestly forgot what I ordered and can't find my order form. Am I safe feeding both species ground dog food and shredded carrots. I believe they are butter worms and perhaps very small super worms. Next time I will have to write down what I ordered.

I wouldn't use dog food at all. It is too high in protein for insects being fed to your chameleon. Post pics of the worms and we can tell you what they are. butter worms won't really eat much. Their food is the tebo tree, but they sometimes will nibble on butternut squash. Your best bet is just to keep them in the frig. Supwrworns will eat a variety of fruits and veggies and greens. I also put some dry gutload in w supers as well.
