Adaptations for Terrestrial Habitat Use

Chris Anderson

I thought I'd post a link to a paper that looked at morphological adaptations in the tail and sensory systems of Brookesia. The paper suggests that these adaptations allow for increased stability so that Brookesia can better exploit terrestrial habitats.

This article has not yet been published in print, only on the Journal's FirstCite online Edition: http://rsbl.royalsocietypublishing.org/content/early/2010/05/08/rsbl.2010.0322.abstract

I also recommend checking out the online supplementary material: http://rsbl.royalsocietypublishing.org/content/early/2010/05/08/rsbl.2010.0322/suppl/DC1

Enjoy,

Chris

Thank you for sharing!
Look forward to read the whole article, the three-dimensional reconstruction of body and tail from B. thieli is amazing.
