Acclimation--WC Pygmy Chameleons

As much privacy as possible is the best. Keep in mind they are not used to people watching them. When I first got my pygs I only went near the viv to mist and feed( it was really hard I wanted to sit and stare!) After a week of this I started to linger to watch eating, then after 2 weeks I moved them onto a ficus to shower and cleaned their enclosure. I have had my brood for about 6 weeks now and three of them come to the front of the enclosure to load onto my finger and to "beg" for food:) I may just have beginners luck. The more time you can give any wc to acclimate to a new environment the better before being a looky loo and trying to handle them. Good luck and hope this helps.

I got my 2 gravid pygmy chameleons from voodoo chameleons in Oregon. I have dimmed the room to allow them a chance to recover from their long trip.

They are so pretty.

I will keep you guys updated on their progress.

The owner shipped the chameleons.

He lives in Oregon. I live in Missouri.

He has already dewormed them.

I have no proof as of yet if the deworming was effective.

I am working with a lab to check fecal samples via mail and have results emailed.

The owner name is Mr. John H. Deaton.

The website is www.voodoochameleon.com

The email address is [email protected]

pictures of the new arrivals

I tried to inconspicuously take a few pics of the gravid females.

One is obviously larger than the other.

These pygmy chameleons look much better than my 1st set I got locally.

See attached photos.

The glass is not clean.....I will clean once the chams are more settled.

The 1st four pics is the largest gravid female.

The last pic is a top view of the smallest gravid female.

Plump ladies you have there. If you found my post on acclimation helpful please hit the justice scales symbol on my post and up my reputation. Good luck with your girls.

p.s. do you have some kind of dirt, sand, coconut husk bedding for those two to lay?

@shawntea.....yes it is very helpful. The 1st day I got my chameleons you should have seen me looking for your post. :) I will definitely hit the scale. p.s. I have a coconut mix and potting soil mix.
