Are Tillandsias harmful to chameleons? Do they help in any way?

I doubt you'll be able to keep a Tillandsia alive very long in a chameleon cage. Tillandsia need high light and low moisture, basically the opposite of a chameleon cage.

That's not quite right, there are hundreds of species of Tillandsia that require various different conditions to survive. Some do like it dry & high light, and others the opposite. A general rule of thumb is the silver leafed varieties like more sunlight than the greens. If you've ever been to a rain forest their everywhere! I've got two in my cage now and they really look fantastic.

Their also not harmful to chameleons.

I use them in some of my cages and have been keeping them in my greenhouse since early summer. High humidity hasn't hurt them and they all went through a bloom. I was told to make sure water doesn't sit inside the plant for any period of time. As long as you position the plant to drain properly, you should have pretty good luck with them.
