I had been on vacation for the week and had been worried as I had been told my female Spectral pygmy had gone off food. I knew she had eggs but didn't expect it to be time already. Its my second day back and when I went to check on the pygs I found two little eggs, however, they were not buried. This confuses me because I know that normally they will lay more than two eggs, and normally they bury them. Any insight?

Gently feel for eggs like you would for a larger species, to see if she layed them all. If she feels like she has layed them all, look near where the other two were to see if she layed them somewhere. If she still has eggs in her, maybe put her in a seperate cage until she does lay them

Im leaving her alone for today, and Ill palpate her tomorrow to see if she still has more eggs. They were pretty large eggs she layed so I cant see how she would have more in her.

First, congratulation! I also have spectral pygmys and my female layed 2 big eggs about 5 weeks ago. They were buried near the root of dead orchid and I dig them and move to somewhere.
And few days ago, same female, I guess, showed some different behavior with enlarged body. I think she will lay some more soon.
Good luck!

Thanks. Thats what I was wondering, about the number of eggs. Sounds like my female did the same thing, because she looks like she could have some more.

Congratulations Danny more babies to come. How long do they take to hatch?

Thanks, I think they take like 3-4 months but I haven't found much on incubation etc.
