A small problem

On my way to work this morning, my girlfriend sends me a picture text showing that i am now the proud owner of what seems to be a newborn or day old pygmy :)

I have fruitflies overnighted that should be here tomorrow. I have some 1/8" crickets at home now. what else can i feed this little one? I have one pet store and petco close buy. I don't want the little one startving until tomorrow.

Congrats on your little one!! Best to keep him separate from the adults so he doesnt have to compete for food. They usually don't eat for the first few days anyway because they are absorbing the last of their yolk sac internally so you'll be fine until the fruit flies arrive. I have 3 that are just a few weeks old right now. They don't like being misted directly btw! And they're really good at hiding so you may think you've lost him several times a day.

what makes me laugh is on the 19th of april we caught one of the females laying eggs. I have 3 in a potato salad cup. I thought those were my first 3. Boy was i suprised :)

Congratulations! Fruitflies are great to start with, and pinhead crickets are good as well. Just have to make sure to remove the crickets so they don't munch on the little ones at night. Be prepared for more babies in the next few days/week. Good luck!

They're precious. i don't think I could handle being in the presence of something that tiny. Like I would be so terrified i would gently brush against them with a fingertip and completely smush them that I'd have a breakdown.
