A Roach life "stages"

Is there a stage in a roaches (Discord Roach) that looks like tiny maggots or worms, for lack of a better description?

I opened up my tub, which has no vetilation to speak of. It's kept warm and dark, and on the underside of the lid are water droplets about 1/8" dia, maybe 1/4" dia., and each droplet has what looks like tiny off white worms. There alive, like restrictive swimming, more the just wiggling in the droplets. There is 4 to as many as 8 worms per water droplet.

I've never seen anything like this, never raised roaches before though either.

Thoughts?

No, the only life stages that you will see are the adults and nymphs which all look like roaches. Those worms might be parasites or nematodes. Do you have soil in there? They could be from soil.

Soil - yes. I bought a block of Coco fiber from the LPS and soaked it in water, ringed it out so it was damp, maybe a little more than damp, as a substrate. Then added the typical grey paper egg crates on top of that with a section of the daily newspaper in between the egg crates so the egg crates would not "spoon" is the only term that comes to mind LOL and paper towel tubes for additional hidy holes.

They might be nematodes then. I would clean the whole thing out and not use any soil/substrate this time. Up the ventilation too to keep it from getting too moist.

Thank you SO much. :)

EDIT: just did a search on "nematodes"...I would say you are correct.

Forever learning. In my wildest dreams, I would have never guessed at the age of +50 I would be researching nematodes...go figure :D
